Balesin Launches Its First-Ever Summer Sports Camps

Summer is fast approaching and what better way to get kids active and reduce their “screen time” than getting them into sports? Make the family’s summer vacation worthwhile and memorable, with Balesin Island Club’s first-ever Summer Sports Camp starting April 1, 2019. The sports camp offers four different sports programs—basketball, tennis, baseball, and soccer—for kids from ages 8 to 18 years old.

Balesin Summer Sports Camp is headed by an all-star roster of expert coaches and instructors in the sports industry. The Basketball Camp is headed by Vince Hizon, former Ginebra player in the Philippine Basketball Association, while the Tennis Camp is led by 5 national team coaches—PJ Tierro, Niño Alcantara, Roland Kraut, Karl Santamaria, and Dennis Sta. Cruz. The Baseball Camp is led by the National Mustang and Bronco Coaches Eric Gesmundo and Jhoel Palanog along with the 2018 University Athletic Association of the Philippines’ Most Valuable Player and star pitcher Kiko Gesmundo. The sports camp is led by Camp Director and former Davis Cup player Marty Ilagan. These coaches use a modern and scientific approach to athletics, and incorporate character-forming lessons in their programs so your child can become a champion not just in sports, but also in life.

For an even more fun-filled week, kids can also enjoy other sports activities on the island such as Archery, Wall Climbing, Biking, Horseback Riding, Kayaking, Paddleboarding, and Beach Volleyball in their free time. “Balesin offers this perfect vacation for the family, and at the same time, keeps the kids active through sports and learning from the best national coaches," says Marty Ilagan.

While kids learn and hone their skills in their preferred sports, parents get to experience the ultimate (and complimentary!) medi-spa experience at Aegle Wellness Center, the premier integrative health and wellness center in the Philippines. Headed by Medical Director Dr. Benedict Valdecañas and Associate Medical Director Dr. Ruby Magpantay, both pioneers in the integrative medicine field, Aegle is designed to provide holistic and sustainable health solutions. The facility offers clinical and therapeutic services, such as comprehensive blood chemistry workups; physician, nutritionist consultations; hyperbaric oxygen therapy; intravenous therapy; thalassotherapy (offered exclusively at Aegle - Balesin); and massage treatments—all of which are included in the Sports Camp package.

In addition to the kids’ sports training and activities, the Sports Camp package consists of a 5-day/4-night stay in one of Balesin Island Club’s well-appointed villas, and includes roundtrip airfare to and from Balesin, and breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the entire stay for 4 people. With Balesin being a world in itself with seven villages authentically patterned after the most alluring vacation destinations in the world—Mykonos from Greece, St. Tropez from France, Costa del Sol from Spain, Toscana from Italy, Bali from Indonesia, Phuket from Thailand, and Balesin representing the Philippines—it’s going to be the ultimate family trip this summer!  Register by February 28, 2019 to get a 5% Early Bird discount off the package rate.
